About HerePDF
HerePDF is a free set of 27 PDF tools built around one idea: your files are yours. Every tool runs inside your browser, on your own device. A PDF you open here is read, changed and saved by your browser, and never sent to a server.
Why it exists
Most online PDF tools ask you to upload a document so their servers can work on it. For a menu or a flyer that hardly matters. For a contract, a tax return, a medical record or an ID scan it does: the file passes through someone else's infrastructure, and you are trusting their word about what happens to it afterwards. HerePDF removes the question. There is no server step to trust, because there is no server step.
How you can check
Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and use any tool. You will see the page and its scripts load, and the usual anonymous page-view counts (see our privacy policy). You will not see a request carrying your file. The guide client-side versus upload tools goes into the difference in more detail, and measures our own merge.

Honest about the limits
Browser-based tools cannot do everything, and each tool page says where its limits are. A few worth knowing up front: OCR reads the picture of a page and can be wrong, so check what it finds, and it does not read handwriting or non-Latin scripts; Extract Text reads an existing text layer only, so a plain scan has nothing for it to extract; the Sign tool places a visual signature, not a cryptographic digital signature; the stronger Compress presets are lossy for JPEG images; and cropping a page hides the trimmed area without deleting it, while Redact does remove what it covers. Where a tool changes or removes something, we test the saved file itself rather than only what the page shows (how we test).
Free to use
HerePDF is free to use. Every tool, no limits, no account, no sign-up. The site may show advertising to help cover running costs; ads are loaded only if you accept cookies, and they never involve your files.

HerePDF is made by Happy Turtle Tech, and it improves from what people tell us. If something does not work on your file, or you would like a tool added, please get in touch. A file that fails is the most useful report we can get: tell us what the file came from and which tool you used.
