How to use this tool

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between resize and crop?
Resize scales the page content to a target paper size (A4, Letter, and so on), so text and images shrink or grow to fit. Crop trims the visible area of the page without scaling anything - it narrows the window onto the page, it does not touch content size.
Does cropping delete the trimmed part of the page?
No. Cropping changes only the visible window (the CropBox) - the full original page content stays in the file, just outside that window. Some viewers will not select the trimmed text, but that does not mean it is gone. If you need to permanently remove sensitive content, cropping is not the right tool.
Will my landscape pages get squeezed into a portrait frame?
No. Resize applies the target size in each page's own orientation - a landscape page gets a landscape target, a portrait page gets a portrait target - so nothing is ever squeezed sideways. If you also want every page in the same orientation, rotate first, then resize.
What is the difference between "Fit" and "Fill"?
Fit scales content down or up to fit entirely inside the target size, adding empty margin around it - nothing is ever cut off. Fill scales content to fully cover the target size, which can clip content extending past the new edge. As with cropping, clipped content is not deleted from the file, only moved outside the visible page.
If my document has mixed page sizes, does crop apply differently per page?
The same crop rectangle, drawn on the first page as you see it, is applied to every page at the same position measured from each page's visible bottom-left corner - so a page that is rotated differently is still trimmed where you would see the box, not along a sideways strip. If your pages differ in size, that rectangle may cover a different fraction of a smaller or larger page, and on a smaller page only the part that fits is kept - check the result before relying on it. Cropping an already-cropped page can only narrow what was visible, never bring back what an earlier crop hid.
