Frequently asked questions
What image formats are supported?
PNG and JPEG. PNG is lossless and best for documents with text or sharp graphics. JPEG is suitable for photo-heavy pages where a smaller file size is preferred.
What resolution should I choose?
150 DPI is sufficient for screen viewing. Use 300 DPI for print-quality output. Higher resolutions increase file size and conversion time.
How are multi-page PDFs handled?
Each page is exported as a separate image file. When a PDF has more than one page, a "Download all as ZIP" button appears alongside the individual page downloads.
Why won't it convert a PDF that opens fine elsewhere?
Some PDFs carry an owner password that forbids copying their content. They open normally in any viewer, but exporting the pages as images copies their graphics, so HerePDF honours the author's restriction and says so instead of converting. If it's your document, re-export it without the restriction; otherwise ask whoever sent it for an unrestricted copy.
Does conversion happen on a server?
No. HerePDF uses PDF.js to render pages entirely inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded anywhere.
